Sticking gas pedal on 1999 buick LeSABRE

The gas pedal has a sticking action when I first hit the gas to start and as long as I keep a little pressure it works good but if I stop and take my foot off the pedal and then if I hit the pedal it has a sticking action.

Actually my dad had the same problem with the gas pedal sticking on his low milage 1999 Buick LeSabre. As a result of this problem, he was involved in a wreck and the car was totaled. We have been told by his mechanic that this is a problem with that year of LaSabre.

1999 Buick Lesabre runs for a short time then will not run. After it warms a little bit it dies then won't start.

Have you tried testing anything right after it dies? Find out what's missing - spark, fuel pressure etc. Could be ignition module, crank sensor, etc. You need to find out what is missing then diagnose the system that failed.

The throttle body is likely a little worn and causing the throttle plate to become jambed in the bore.Adjusting the minimum air rate up a bit will cure the symptom

Car acts like it want to start, but dies right away. And I don't know witch relay is for the fuel pump.

this is usually the sign of crank postition sensor failure. If you can keep the engine going using the gas pedal then this is probably not your problem. if you can hold down the gas pedal a little and the engine runs, then clean or replace your idle air control valve _ or IAC.

Gas pedal sticking. requires more than normal pressure until car starts moving

I had same problem on my 2004 lesabre, I waited until it was stuck and opened the hood and pulled on the throttle by hand very easily and could feel it sticking there, so I sprayed carb cleaner on the springs and around and through them. This loosened it up right away and have not had any trouble since, I did not spray anything into the throttle body, Good luck

Will not start unless press gas pedal

what happens when it does finally run, does it run rough, black smoke?? if the fuel pressure regulator is leaking it COULD causet his problem. Find the regulator and take the vac hose off, if there is fuel in the hose, replace the fuel pressure regulator.

My 1990 Buick Lesabre shakes at 40 mph what do I do?

Check front engine mounts. Open hood, hold brake pedal down, put car in drive, press gas pedal down a little and see if engine jumps up due to a broken mount.
