Hello: The code you have P0741 means the torque converter is stuck off. Either the solenoid is bad or the torque converter is bad. Troubleshooting with a GM scanner will help to diagnose this problem. Recommend letting a Transmission shop repair this.

2004 dodge neon sxt manual transaxle. When shfting through gears 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 it seems like rpms are staying high and i cant feel a differance when i shift. Its hard to put in words.

I would look at the shift linkage to see if its binding or not moving properly. also the boot around the shifter can get pinched preventing the linkage from aligning properly.
there are 2 cables that run to the transaxle and they can stretch or wear out. Maybe have someone shift (engine off) and you can watch in the linkage move in the engine bay to see if anyting looks sloppy. if so you may need new cables but before that get a mechanic to verify that they are not moving right.

Given what you have said & the metal shavings

I would pull it & rebuild it

Not worth diagnosing the PO741 TCC issue as long as there
is metal, it is thru out the entire unit.

Nothing special about that trans because it is in a euro car

They use Gm Trans & the US Mfg uses Euro, across some vehicle lines & models

I changed the gear box of my 2007 corolla about 5 months ago. Then I noticed the car jerks or kind of pushes forward whenever i change my gear from park/neutral to drive or reverse. Please what do you...

A delay of more than a second in shifting from the neutral to drive or reverse gear, could mean that there is a problem with the transmission. If on changing from a neutral or park position to the drive or reverse gear, the car does not immediately catch the gear and move forward or backward, then it could mean a problem in the transmission. If you change gears, and you hear a sudden clunk or sudden jolt or shudder, then the shifting is not smooth and there could be a problem with the gearbox. If the engine rpm keeps increasing but there is no increase in the speed, then it could be a sign of the transmission slipping. Most automatic transmission systems, nowadays, have a check engine light or an OD light, which flashes if there is a problem with the engine.

P0741 torque converter stuck off code - 2004 Toyota corolla

P0741 deals with internal transmission torque converter slip. A proper scan tool that is capable of reading the sensor's data inside the transmission would show the slipping torque converter and the fluid temperature.
It is critical to know exactly what conditions are present when the code stores. If the codes were not erased, they could be old codes in it's history.

Go back to the transmission shop or where you had the work done on replacing the TCC solenoid and have them read and clear the codes history. As mentioned, they could be old codes that is being read prior to your repairs.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck, Have a shop verify line pressure, and provided no valves in the TCC hydraulic circuit are worn, replace the torque converter. Also, Lubegard Shudder Fix will at least fix this for awhile. Or try a transmission flush by a shop that uses BG brand products.

2004 Dodge Stratus automatic has trouble shifting gears

The only way to find out what caused your check engine light to come on is to get a ODB II code reader or take it to a repair shop and let them read the codes that are stored in your cars computer. The check engine light can come on for transmission problems as well as engine problems in newer cars (1996 or newer). From what I read about the three problems that are mentioned above they are not caused by the same issue. (Hate to be the bearer of bad news). For the transmission problem, I would take the car to a repair shop and get the transmission fluid and filter changed as soon as possible. The Throttle Position sensor problem will most likely be fixed by a new throttle position sensor. The battery problem sounds like it could be a short or electrical draw on the electrical system of the car. Be aware, these type of electrical problems are VERY hard to sort out because it could be almost anything. Disconnect the battery and charge it. after you know it is fully charged reconnect the battery, take each fuse out one at a time while having the bright headlights on and see if any fuses being removed cause the lights to be brighter there is a problem with the curcuit that the removed fuse protects. Don't forget, on most new cars, there are also fuses under the hood and under the dash.

I wish all 3 of you much good luck.
