You should have a servo pump to help the pressure on diesel models. If the pump fails, then the brakes feel soft as though there is no pressure there. The other fault is, that a wheel cylinder or some other brake componant is leeking fluid. Cheek for fluid leeks and if there are none get the pump checked out.

SOURCE: 2001 tdi 130 passat lacks power

Get the fuel pump checked. Crack each injector in turn and see if there is any fuel getting thrugh, When you set up the timing you may of thrown out the timing of the fuel pump.

SOURCE: turbo lag and lack of power

Hi,
This is the second Vw I have responded to in a fortnight.
Your lack of power I presume always happens when the glow plug light illuminates?
This is because it is causing over combustion to vaporised diesel, I would be looking in the Glow plug timer and relay, as for Turbo lag, I run a E34 6 cyl Bmw Diesel and the Turbo only kicks in around 2,500ish so maybe yours is a little tired or in need of a check up?
Hope this helped,
Paul 'W'

SOURCE: 97 passat tdi turbo charger

If your talking about a 97 Vw passat it's gonna be a challange. I have one my self and I have all the performance parts. I just got a 04 turbo off a EVO. It's gonna be a tight squeeze fer sure. I put it on a lift actully yesterday to be exact. And you cant up it in from the bottom. If your really helbent on putting in a turbo your going to need a turbo manifold that fits your engine, a innercooler, a wastegate, a blow-off valve, oil lines to go to your turbo, and for my sake a turbo timer because worth it. teh job will take about a day or two. The job is pretty much impossible to do by your self because every nut and bolt has to fit right. Now if your wondering where all this stuff is gonna be, well it has to be in the back where your exhaust is. There is barely room but it can be done, it's gonna be a tight squeeze. I'll have pics up of mine in a few months. Oh and by the way take off your intake. and get a cold air intake, not only do you get soo much more room under the hood you get better gas and speed :)
