General Information The Engine Management System (EMS) uses several different sensors and actuators to gather and control various emissions and driveability aspects of the vehicle. These may include but are not limited to:

  • FTP - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor
  • A/F - Air Fuel Ratio Sensor
  • CKP - Crankshaft Position Sensor
  • CMP - Camshaft Position Sensor
  • EGR Valve Position - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Position Sensor
  • HO 2S - Heated Oxygen Sensor
  • IAC - Idle Air Control Valve
  • IAT - Intake Air Temperature Sensor
  • KS - Knock Sensor
  • MAF - Mass Air Flow Sensor
  • TP - Throttle Position Sensor
These sensors provide critical information to the EMS such as, barometric pressure, atmospheric pressure, intake manifold/engine vacuum, fuel tank pressures and changes as the vehicle is operated.

Navigator Door Chime goes off when car off and I open the door. Radio system stays on & interior lights go off when door shuts.

All this comes from the GEM module,You will need to repair the driver door lamp switch located in the door lock assemble.

It will let you download a pdf version to your computer. then open the document and go to page 135. this is free don't pay for something you shouldn't, you already got the vehicle. this is just information. its located in the r/f of the engine compartment near the washer fluid reservoir.

Wiring got wet now power seats, dome lights, radio, rear ac work intermittently

There is a Technical Service Bulletin which indicates that moisture on or in certain wiring harnesses and electrical components will cause the GEM (Generic Electronic Module) to FAIL. Look up: Gem problem on Navigators.
