ABS light. I have a 1999 4WD limited V6 Tacoma. The abs light is on all the time and I don't feel the system operating anymore. The break pads and rear bands are new, the pump is working well, the fluid distribution valve over the rear differential is new and no leakage. The rear wheels does not stop at all. Very low fluid pressure at rear cylinders when bleeding. [email protected] Thanks.

ABS and handbrake light beeps while driving

ABS warns you about a problem in your ABS System starting from the fuse, or relay and the other light is not for the hand break ! it's warning you about your break PADS.
So change your break pads and check your ABS system functionality.

Why are the ABS and AWD lights remaining on after start up? I am also feeling a slipping or vibrating when applying brakes hard or on a steep hill.

the feeling from the brakes will be the ABS in operation. Run the fault codes to check ABS system for problems. have the brake system /pads and rotors checked for serviceability.

If it feel hard to break and have the abs light on it could be just the front sensor?

I don't think hard brakeing is affected by the ABS system. ABS only kicks in during a panic stop. Hard brakeing could be caused by many things, but the system is really pretty simple. I would check the pads (or shoes) first to make sure there is adequate material for the brakes to work properly and there is no contamination of the rotors or drums. If those look good, it is probably a problem with the master cylinder. Brake jobs are not fun, but well within the scope of a weekend mechanic. A master cylinder is on the border of what you should tackle. Remember, these things stop your 2 ton car for you, you need for them to work properly.
Try your library for a repair manual on your Pacifica, and look into the brake section for more info & troubleshooting ideas. Libraries used to have a large section of auto repair manuals, they were in great demand at one time. If you come up short at the library, try the internet. You could always try to buy a manual from Amazon too.

Brakes won't release

does your model have an abs unit as this can be the fault, some areas when sold did not have this abs unit but with the abs unit it has valves to assist braking. if a piston in the abs has failed it stop it from working and only manual braking is used but this is limited.

I own a 1997 honda civic dx sedan 5 speed. i dont know if my car has ABS.. it doesnt show on dashboard.... how can i know if it has ABS

when you first start your car, all of the lights on the dashboard should light up -- if there is no ABS light there, you probably do not have ABS on your car. The slightly more risky way to test it would be to take the car out on an unused access road and go about 20 to 25 miles per hour, then slam the breaks as hard as you can. If the tires squeal on the road, then you do not have ABS. Please make sure you are going to be safe if you try to test your breaks -- make sure there are no other cars on the road ... make sure the road is wide enough that if your car skids to one side or the other that you will not hit anything ... make sure that your wheels are straight when you hit the breaks so you do not lose control. If you do not have ABS, you should perform a controlled skid ... if you do, your car will not skid, and for just a moment you should feel your breaks take control for you (slight pumping motion of the pedal under your foot).
Generally, if there is ABS in a car, there is a light on the dashboard to warn you when the system is not working properly, so if you don't have a warning light, you don't have ABS.

MY ABS LIGHT IS ON MY 2005 CHEVY EQUNIOX

You need to check the brakes for worn pads, pads have a small piece of steel that will screech big time warning you that the pads need replace ment. but the fact that the ABS light is on may mean more is wrong with the brakes. If only the ABS light is on. It can still be driven to a shop. But if both the ABS and the Brake Warning lights are on, the car shouldn't be driven. Take the car to a shop to get the breaks repaired . If only the screeching noise was occuring, then you could replace the pads yourself. but the ABS light means that the brakes have some wrong other than just the pads.
