We trying to fix the pulley on the cam shaft pulley that turns the water pump
I am having the same problem. I traced the problem to the antitheft box in the car. I was told that a certified mechanic can reset the box and the problem should be corrected. But if the wires going from the large harness from that box get hot to the touch then there might be an arch occuring causing the malfunction. In either case you can unplug the large harness and during the day you have no problems but at night you need to plug that harness back in to get your lights to work and when you arrive at your destination unplug the harness again.

I have a 1998 olds aurora ,it has all the power lights, auto and manual headlights, the problem i am having is that the headlight switch seem to making a clicking sound (in that area),sometimes when driving, during this sound the head lights flicker on and off,even if the car is parked and no one is in it, during the night it seems like a ghost car , maybe power is serging?
