How many oxygen sensors are there for a 2002 Nissan Sentra? Where are they located? We can find two, but have read that there should be two banks of two. Could you send us a diagram? thanks

There will be one oxygen sensor in each exhaust manifold.

Look at the exhaust system starting from the engine,the oxygen sensor closest to the engine is B1S1 (bank 1 sensor 1)

Best Answer: That was the dumbest answer. On a four cylinder engine a o2 sensor is reading the air fuel ratio from the exhaust of all four cylinders. There is a o2 sensor before and after the catalytic converter. Bank 2 is refering to the o2 sensor after the cat. When u replace it you need to inspect the cat and make sure its not coming apart from the inside. If it is you need a new one. If u cant afford one then i would just hollow out the cat with a large screwdriver. If u hollow it out ur car wont pass emission testing.

The 1.8 is a 4 cyl. engine . it has only 2 oxygen sensors . Nissan engine controll systems devides its EGO sensors into banks . Bank 1 is the upstream (top before the catylyctic converter) . Bank 2 is the downstream (after the cat. conv.) I recomend you change both for emissions reasons

it is wher the engine meets the transmission..on the flywheel...and the oxygen sensors bank 1 is the one before the catalyst....and bank 2 is the one after the catalyst....
