There is a short in the light switch...im sure it needs to be replaced.. very common for this year truck... first remove dash and disconnect switch...inspect plug for melted terminals... i think this is where u will find your problem

Hi,

As temporary fix, please unplug the battery from the car when you're leaving it for more than 15 minutes. This should stop it from being drained by your parking lights.

The limp mode , reduced power mode has to do with the electronic throttle control . Some good videos on youtube how it works an how to diagnose . Electronic Throttle Control ETC System .Now as far as the parking lights staying on ,the relay contacts are probably stuck closed causing the lights to stay on .

how about the parking lights in front ? are they staying on too ? sounds like possably the brake switch might need adjusted or your switch to the headlights is faulty

If you pull the 20amp park lamp fuse and the lights stay on, it almost has to be a short inside the headlight switch.

Headlights run off their own fuse, as they require more power to function, parking lights run off a lower current fuse, what dashboard light stays on, the high beams?
