I have a 2008 Hyundai Accent. About 2 weeks ago my car wouldn't start after driving perfectly fine and parked for only 10 minutes. Took it to O'Reilly's and Autozone and all locations said that the alternator regulator failed the test and the battery and starter were both good. Bought a new alternator and had it put it on. Drove it for a week or so and today I drove it a mile from the house and turned it off for maybe 10 minutes and it wouldn't start. Had it jumped off, took it to Autozone. They tested the new alternator that was recently replaced and, again, it came back alternator regulator failed and battery and starter were fine. Any help as to why a new alternator would fail would be great.

first, what is the condition and level of the tranny fluid ? compare with new one please. if not the same by far in clour or odor, get the transmission filter and oil changed. while the pan is off, look in it to see if there is metal in it. if so, your torque converter may need to be change. a little greyish residue at the bottom is normal but if the magnet is full and also the, you got a problem. you may need to rebuild it or replace it.
well the first thing you need to do is to pull the stored codes in the computer and see what they say and then go from there, this could be a speed sensor or a trany going bad , i dont know if this is an automatic or standard trany, start with the codes from the check engine light, autozone car parts store will scan the computer at no charge,
If you have not found the problem yet, check the transmission interlock. Sounds like the shifter interlock switch may not be engaging to allow the starter to activate!
You need to have to transmission filter changed. Dirty filter and not letting it shift. Can you start the motor and let it run about 10-minutes befroe driving. It could be that the fluid is cold and thick, not wanting to shift????? Try that.
ok when the check engine light comes on that usually indicates a engine malfunction...what you can do is go to your local autozone and they can do an OBDII test for free..my bet says it is the cam or crank sensor.. DO NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF AT AUTOZONE..LOL
