My rear view mirror fell off....however, the bracket is still attached to the windshield. Does the mirror simply click back in place or is it more involved to reattach to the windshield?

Nothing to involved with these mirrors. Some mirrors do clip back on the bracket others screw on. If the screw fell out and you cant find it, you would be better off just getting a replacement mirror. If the clip is broken, then you should also replace mirror.
To remove the old mirror bracket, you will see where it is attached to the windshield, there is either a hex screw or phillips screw holding the bracket to the glued mount piece attached to the windshield, loosen screw, slide bracket up and replace with new mirror.
If it is the steel mount thats glued that has fallen off the windshield, then go down to your local auto parts store, ask the staff there for windshield mirror glue, comes in a small tube with directions on how to re-glue the steel mount to your windshield. Hope this helps.

2003 BMW x5 rear view mirror fell off how to get it back on?

if the mirror clips/slides onto a small bracket that is incorporated into the windshield then it is a case of sliding it back on , check that the ridge either side of the mirror bracket are'nt cracked or chipped as then the mirror wont stay in place ,on some models the mirror base sticks directly to the windshield so will need to go to a repair shop to get the appropriate glue , hope that makes sense

The interior rear view mirror just fell off of my 2002 saturn sl, could someone tell my the simplies way to fix it. i tried placing it back on but it is not fitting on there properly. thanks

Hi Vicky.Your rear view mirror,as it is off is thear a small metal stub on the windshield? If so it means that the clip must be changed. If not then you will have to purchis rear view mirror glue and stick it back on. PS : WHAT IS BEHIND YOU IS NOT INFRONT.

Interior rear view mirror fell off my 98 BMW 540i

There is a small set screw that holds the mirror to the small metal button. Most vehicles use a small Phillips screw but some use a Hex Key Wrench (Allen Wrench) type screw. Slide the mirror off the button. Make sure not to remove the glue before you put the button back on. Trace around the glue with a grease pencil on the outside of the windshield before you remove it. So you know exactly where to replace the button. You can buy a Rear View Mirror Adhesive Kit for around five dollars.

How do i get the rear view mirror back on?

I am assuming you are talking about the interior rear view mirror and not the side rear view mirror. Most auto parts stores sell an adhesive glue to fix the interior rear view mirror. Most of these mirrors have two parts to them. One part is the bracket that glues to the windshield and the other part is the rear view mirror assembly. Before gluing the bracket to the glass check and see how the mirror assembly attaches to the bracket. There will often be a screw that fixed the two together.

Re-assembly of 99 Blazer mirror to windshield

This is a relatively easy task, the bulk of the work has been for you. The rear view mirror assembly simply slides onto that metal block that was glued to your windshield. Your mirror mount (the part that slides onto the metal bracket) may be cut differently or shaped different from the rest of that part. you simply need to line that up with the metal mount on your windshield. slide the mirror on and tighten down the set screw if you have one. I've listed the steps below

1. find the base mount for your mirror (this is the bottom of the mirror that sits on the windshield)

2. look for a cut out or flat part of the mirror base.

3. line the flat part of the mirror base with the metal mount bracket on the windshield.

4. slide the mirror onto the metal bracket (this may require you to wiggle while you slide the mirror onto the metal bracket).

5. tighten the set screw on the mirror base ( this is important because your mirror will vibrate off the bracket if you don't.

Note some mirrors slide from the bottom of metal mount bracket and some slide from the top. it sort of depends on the manufacturer and/or the way the bracket was installed.

Hope this helps

The inside rear view mirror fell off I need to re=attach it

The button is locked into the mirror shoe by a flat spring. Find the notch at the bottom of the shoe and insert a small flat screwdriver to push the spring away from the button. Some force may be required.

Rearview mirror fell off windshield! Not broken...

the mirror should simply slide over the metal mount (button) that is glued to the window.

loosen the set screw on the mirror mount...

hold the rear view mirror mount on the glass just above the metal mount (wide end of plastic opening facing down)

slide it into place...
secure it by tightening down set screw you loosened earlier.

Rear View Mirror

Use rear view mirror adhesive. The brand that works the best is permatex. You can buy it at wal-mart. Just follow the instructions on the back.
