Does the Transmission Control Module limit speeds when a car overheats? Does it get stuck and need to be reprogrammed?

Are you looking for the location of the TCM (Transmission Control Module)?

If so, you'll have to remove the transmission's valve body in order to access the TCM. You get to it by first removing the transmission fluid pan.

2001 nissan maxima won't engage in D

Hello
This engine and the transmission in this car are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM or TCM for the transmission, when problems like this occur fault code or codes are set in the PCM/TCM memory. What must be done now is to have the memory read to retrieve this fault code. This is called a system scan, the system is called the OBD2 electronic engine control system. Based on the results of the fault codes you perform diagnostics and repair the problem, that can be a sensor, wiring or even in rare cases the PCM/TCM has failed.

Torque converter mulfunction

This is a circuit code. It could be the Transmission control module(TCM), the solenoid, or the wires in between. I would start by checking the wires running between the transmission control module and the transmission. Look for any obvious signs of chaffing or breakage. If the harness is ok, replace the solenoid pack in the transmission. If this still doesn't fix, replace the TCM.
