3.2L v6? LA3 caddy<<<< THIS? IT IS and engine problem, so?
hOW MANY MILES ON THIS ENGINE?
EVER CHANGE OUT THE CAM BELT, THEY ARE last from 60k to 100k MILES AND THEN SLIP. cam TIMING,

the problem is easy, most times, this belt on the cam died, ran to 100k miles they die.
lack of proper service is the cause
and cam sensor fails. even replaced 10 times as is must timed wrong.

To answer the OP's question, yes the 3.2L is an interference motor.

that means if engine is cranked or run with belt slipped or broken, the valves BEND
and a cylinder leak down test fails (hand turned)

The same thing happened to my 03 CTS. The camshaft position sensor code is often thrown for a variety of reasons. In my case somehow the ECM went when the timing belt jumped (after the serpentine belt broke). It was a bear to diagnose but after installing a rebuilt ECM it runs great. (Don't make the mistake I made: the cylinder head gaskets will fit nicely on either side but if not placed on the correct sides you'll block the single oil port which provides engine oil to the head)

The 2003 Cadillac CTS 3.2 V6 uses a timing belt. GM recommends that you change your timing belt every 60,000 miles.

I do not mean to be hurtful and it will take some time to do. Maybe all day if you have no experience. If you need instructions just maybe you should have some do it for you.

Cadillac recommends it be replaced at 100,000 miles.
You should also consider changing the tensioner (1) and idlers (2) at the same time. A kit is available from the dealer and various aftermarket sources that contains all the parts.
