Depends on the type of OEM radio you had in the system before the replacement. Your car may have an auxiliary amplifier between the radio and the speakers, and if so, you may have to bypass it. In any case, have a look at the original wiring diagram (Alldatadiy.com will probably help) and check your wiring again.
try to locate diagram of belt routing - Google "2002 Pontiac Montana (your eng.size) belt routing diagram" then click over to Google images. I know the belts run close but shouldn't be contacting anything but pulleys and idler
