Several different ways to do this , but I am not sure for jaguar. Anyway first if you have a fob lock the car, wait several minutes then open with the fob. second insert the key and lock the , wait , then try, third turn try car on , don't start, wait at least ten minutes turn it off then try to start, sometimes you have to do this three times. fourth call the dealer and ask for parts, these guys are fairly helpfull good luck

I have a chevy 1996 hhr and my key got stuck in the ignition but i got it out. However, when i put my key into the ignition the car still will not start? Could this be a dead battery issue or ignition...

To eliminate the battery have a load test done to check the cell conditions. I suspect that it may be an immobiliser problem from the key issue.

Hi i bought a vw beetle was running fine the last few days. I went to drive it yesterday and it wont start the immobiliser is showing its not flashing tho. My step dad replaced the car keys battery the day...

My immobiliser keeps flashing until I put the key in the ignition and then it stops. Normally changing key batteries has a period that if the battery is changed inside that time (say 5 minutes) then the key program will not loose memory Run fault codes to see if there is a problem in the electronics. Otherwise you may have to take the car to the dealer to have the key reprogrammed to the cpu in the car

Hi

if the battery is not much good then you will get issues like this also being a ford I would check the earth connection from the car battery to the car body, the main feed. also there is another o the gearbox and another that runs to the altenator, these are all common poor earth problems. ensure they have a good conatct.

Secondly have you checked the fuel relay is not loose or maybe on it's way out, this again is not unusual, if the relay fails then it has an electro magnet inside, poor powr from the battery will make it stick either open or closed like a light switch kinda, you should here it ticking at the fuse box when the key is turned, also immobilisers often use this part of the cars wiring to stop fuel coming to the engine as a security measure. Maybe thats the issue the immobiliser shutting the relay down.

I would certainly check that first as its super simp,e to replace.

Dan

Car starts and dies straight away

sounds like the immobiliser is dead. 1996 immobiliser in south africa qould leave the car dead but 97 onwards cuts out the fuel supply so car starts and dies. it might be fuel relay but i doubt it. try throqing fuel into the intake manually. if it stays on for longer its prob not immobiliser.

Immobiliser ?????? so i have been told

If, when you switch the ignition on, you get a dash light on, the symbol is a car with a key overlaid, you have somehow activated the immobilser You could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, this may reset the immobiliser, If this does not work you will have to contact a Hyundai dealer to get the immobiliser unlock code.

No power when switch is turned to start.

What was the jump method? NEG to chassis? That should tell you that the ground cables should be suspect - NEG battery to chassis and to engine.
