No spark or power to fuel pump - 1995 Ford Contour

Spark, fuel, air. Make sure pump is pumping. Make sure spark is sparking. Make sure air is available.

I guess you know the ignition system is not connected to the fuel pump circuit.
The pump relay gets power from the key switch and the computer grounds the relay to power the pump. You get power for 3 seconds when you first turn the key on. Then you have to have oil pressure to continue powering the pump.
Have you checked the relay to see if it is working ?

U need to check the crankshaft position sensor. The fuel pump will only have power for 2 seconds I till it sees a crank signal. It' controls the asd relay which turns on your spark and fuel

Did you check the ASD relay and fuel pump relay for power and ground ??

Should be a designated fuse for the power to the fuel pump I'm not familuar with this model but some vehicals with electric fuel pumps have a reset swich on the pump or under the hood on the fire wall.

Before you do anything else find the fuse box and check for any relays or fuse blown. then check fuel pump itself by putting direct power from battery to see whether is working or not if not renew fuel pump. If you have no spark and any relay or fuse is not the cause,the go for distributor electronic module bad contacts,or finally ECU or Immobilizer.

#1 NEED TO VERIFY SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS # 2 CK FUEL PRESSURE AT SCHRADER VALVE ON FUEL RAIL ,,PRESSURE DEPENDS ON TYPE ENGINE ....IF NO SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS CHECK SPARK FROM COIL WIRE , IF NO SPARK AT COIL ,CHECK VOLTAGE TO IGNITION COIL SHOULD BE 12 VOLTS, IF NO VOLTAGE AT COIL ( KEY ON ) CHECK FUSES THEN IGHITION SWITCH. IF NO FUEL PRESSURE AND FUEL PUMP RUNS REPLACE PUMP .. CK VOLTAGE TO FUEL PUMP WHILE CRANKING . CK USING PUMP GROUND WIRE AT THE PUMP CONNECTOR THIS WILL PROVE GROUND ALSO. USE TEST LIGHT TO VERIFY

First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.

If there is no spark, then there is no signal to crankshaft position sensor. If no power to fuel pump, check relay and power to it.

If you are not getting power to either of them.Then igniitn module or ECM is faulty.

Spark comes to the plugs, via through the ignition switch ( in the on position) to the primary side of coil. Possibilities ignition switch, distributor cap , rotor, plug wires, coil, control module. If you remove the coil, control module these can be tested at Autozone for free.
