yes.the problem was the wiring loom from the ignition switch reader coil. when i towed it to the audi garage one of the mechanics loosen the steering column and yanked it in and out a few times and the car started. i left it with them it was £25 for parts and an hour and a half labour at £100 an hour. from what i gather changing the loom is easy. most annoyed because i am an hgv mechanic myself so i phoned the garage beforehand looking for some direction but they said it would need to go on the diagnostic machine. hope this helps

Hi
my audi a4 will not start if the ignition light keeps flashing - but if i remove and reinsert the key til the ignition light does go out it starts ok - sometimes it can take a few tries!

2002 malibu 3100 v-6 won't start, getting fuel and fire to all cylinders

if the security light is flashing than the anti theft is active. The anti theft shuts down the injectors and will not let the vehicle start.

You'll need a battery charger to do this. Hook up the battery charger to the battery.

Place the key in the igniton and attempt to start. Let the key return to the run postion and leave it there untill the light stops flashing. Turn the key off

Turn the key on (do not try to start) and wait for the light to stop flashing again.

turn the key off and then try to start the vehicle.

You can google search "resetting gm security" and find this info as well.

My check engine light is on and had it checked and it gave a multiple miss fire on my 2005 chevy impala with a 3.4 liter v6. When you get to a certain speed the engine light flashes and then when you slow...

It sounds like a bad injector or a bad fuel pump .A p0300 is a random misfire. The best way to find out what the problem is take your car to some shop like Pep Boys or someplace equivalent to that a have them do a complete balance test of your injectors and have them test your cam position and crank sensors both of these sensors can be tested for proper operation.Ask them for a computer read out this will tell your mechanic exactly whats wrong.

Engine has miss-fire

First check spark plugs/wires/distributor cap (tune up). Also would be good idea to use fuel injector cleane and change fuel filter and O2 sensor.
Hope that helps

Audi 2001 a4 1.8t

There are two things to check.
1. It is producing a spark.
2. It is getting petrol through.
To check whether is producing a spark.
Remove one spark plug from engine. Reconnect HT lead and hold it touching car chassis and turn the engine. Do no hold the Ht lead with bare hands while doing this as it carries thousand of volts and will give you nasty shock. Hold it with some insulted material .
When you turn the engine you see spark across the plug electrodes.
As for fuel, trace the fuel pipe coming into the carbureter and disconnect pipe and have someone turn engine .Petrol should gush out showing that the petrol pump is working.
