Volvo v40 (estate) same as s40 1997 2 litre

Replace the mechanics. It is very easy if you take a look at some guide in a volvo forum.

Could have many causes, but a good start could be to have the
oxygen sensor voltage output checked.(In exhaust system)
This would explain why mixture/ variable idle speed occurs.

the flasher relay is most likely bad. or the switch could be bad. do the turn signals work? double check the fuse.

needs a new water temperature sensor for the auto choke ,where it is ?? sorry i cant help havent worked on one as yet

in my opinion your engine is a goner,

go under the car and look for it, get a pan and make sure it doesnt go all over you. you gotta have a special tool to take it off

Take it back to the installer of the drive shaft and demonstate to them the problem.

The symptons you describe a indicate to me you have a faulty constant velocity drive joint or inadequate grease lubrication in the joint.

If the drive shaft proves to be the problem, it should be replaced with a new unit under warranty.

your blinker switch is broken.

Here's how to set the clock on a 2004 Volvo V40. Rotate the odometer stem to the right or to the left and hold it without pushing it in. The clock will start to move slowly then speed up. This seems to have been left out of the owners manual. Hope it helps.
