Just want to know where crankshaft position sensor is on 2002 ford escape and what it looks like

Hi!!

here are illustrations of the CKP (crankshaft position) sensor in 2.3L and 3.0L.

Note: In the bottom of the 2.3L drawing says Trottle Position (TP) Sensor, this is wrong, It should say CKP Sensor.


2.3L Engine


The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located to the left of the crankshaft pulley.

3.0L Engine


The Crankshaft Position (CKjsut want to know where crankshaft position sensor - 0996b43f8020299e.jpg just behind the crankshaft pulley on engine block.

2003 ford escape run sometimes but when it wont start their no spark


best have vechicle code scan could have faulty crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor.could have fault PCM.replace spark plugs and wires see what happens.

Where is the crank position sensor located on the 2002 Ford Escape? Will I need a rubber O ring or paper spacer?


The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP):
4 CYL - located on the front of the engine, near the flywheel end of the block. remove exhaust manifold, disconnect electrical connector, remove bolt. installation is reverse of removal, no gasket req'd. torque to 62 inch-pounds
6 CYL - located next to crankshaft pulley - remove right wheel, remove lower right splashshield. disconnect electrical connector, remove bolt. installation is reverse of removal, no gasket req'd. torque to 89 inch-pounds

2002 ford escape about two weeks ago started having trouble starting would turn over but would not start you had to turn it over 3 or 4 times before it would start then no more trouble the rest of the...


depending on your knowledge of the vehicle check the crankshaft sensor, and the fuel pump relay. see in you are getting spark to the plugs.

FREE FROM ME TO YOU!!! I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU!! Sensor, Crankshaft Position (CKP) Removal
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  1. Remove crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor) (6C315).
    1. Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
    1. Remove the (A) CKP sensor shield nuts and the (B) CKP sensor shield.
    1. Remove the (C) CKP sensor bolts and the (D) CKP sensor.

  1. Install crankshaft position sensor.
    1. Position the CKP sensor.
    1. Install the bolts.
    1. Position the shield.
    1. Install the shield nuts.
    1. Connect the electrical connector.

  1. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Remove the sensor.

Car dose not start after installing timing chains


You didn't by chance hit or move crankshaft position sensor when doing other work. (Behind crankshaft pulley)
