You have to find the linkage and pull it. If yu cannot find the linkage, one trick is to go to a self serve wrecking yard and play with one of the 90s olds by removing the door panel and looking at it to see how it works.

The only way to fix it is to pull off the inner door panel and have a look. If the handle is broken, you will see the two nuts holding the handle to the door. If the latch rod from the handle to the latch has come loose, reattach the rod into the hole on the handle and secure it with the plastic clip.
The door handles are a common problem on those models. Made with cheap parts, they break easily.
Get a stiff wire, a coat hanger works, and go in through that opening on window. It will take a little time with bending and twisting to get the wire hooked around inside door handle, but you can certainly do it. Many times I have wished for an open window, when I had to force a door slightly to get a wire through the door rubber moulding. good luck. and keep trying, if you break the seats to get in, you'll still have to replace it.
u can pry the window frame open a little slide a block to keep it open and slip anything u can hook the inside door handle to open door some parts stores sell these
If you can open doors remove the bezel or cover from the inside of the door behind the handle area there should be a rod connected there that if you pull up on it the door should open.
tedious, but not very hard. you must remove the inner door panel and reconnect the rods to the handle from inside the door. if the clips that hold the rod onto the handle are broken, you may need to source new clips, or just get another door handle that comes with clips.
Have you been replacing the handles with aftermarket replacements made in China. If so, spend the extra $$ to get the parts from a GM dealer. They obviously break too but perhaps not as easily.
