The easiest way to reset service light on any car is to unplug negative (black) cable from battery for 2-3 minutes. If the problem is fixed, the light will be off upon cranking car again. Hope this helps. Please leave feedback.

I just purchased a 2005 Porsche Boxster with 13000 miles from a Chevy dealer. They supposedly did a basic service before delivering the car. On my way home I noticed a message on the dash that said...

hi,

Try this procedure. Porsche can be hit or miss with reset procedures. Sometime a Porsche scan tool is needed.

1. Enter the vehicle and make sure that all doors are closed.

2. Push the odometer reset button while turning the ignition key on.

3. Continue holding down the odometer reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the "Service Reset" message appears in the information center.

4. Release the odometer reset button and press the reset button on the bottom of the wiper stalk.

5. It may take a few attempts with this procedure.

6. If the light is not reset, then a Porsche compatible scan tool will be required to reset it.

2001 porsche 911 maintenance light, how do you turn it off

Hello. There are two ways to turn it off. The recommended way is to have the car's computer scanned and reset. When it is reset, the light will go off. The other way is to disconnect the battery for two minutes. When the battery is reconnected, the light will be off. Joe
