This problem could be cause by a few things, the first thing to check would be the operation of the air fuel sensor and the next thing i would look at would be to check for proper fuel preasure. the preasure spec is 50psi. and the volume spec is that it should pump at least 1.85 L in 30secs.

Just bought 99 BMW 323i. After driving it for about twenty minutes front end makes noise when turning the wheel even in park. Car also spells of burnt rubber

It really sounds like you have a belt that is worn out and slipping. This will cause both of the symptoms you describe. Have the belts checked.

Bmw e46 battery light comes on intermitantly when driving and car feels its about to stall. i have had a new alternator fitted and battery is ok but still get the same problem.

One of the wires in the circuit is loose, or a fused link is defective. Check all fasteners and connectors to make sure they are secure. Spray a small amount of lithium grease on the connectors to ensure that they connect fully - your intermittent problem is due to intermittent contact.

During slow, steady acceleration, car feels like it is hesitating

change the fuel you are using. try some fuel system cleaner. this is a petty issue, every vehicle develops issues over time.a bmw owner complains about hestitations, a bmw driver enjoys the ride. DEAL WITH IT!!!

During slow, steady acceleration, car feels like it is hesitating

That was just a generic answer I do not know your particular car. Back in the day we put oil around the intake gaskets and if the engine  speed increased or steaded we knew that we had found it. I also could be other things.  Have you tried Carb/injector cleaner in with the gasoline? A vacuum leak could be too small to show on a vacuum gage but a person could look for or at least confirm a leak with the gage. Sorry I can not be of more help.
