Does this vehicle use the FSS system? If so:
-First remember to perform ALL of the procedures MB recommends at this service interval. Failure to do so may result in an unsafe condition.
-Do not use oil that hasn't been approved by MB for your vehicle unless the oil is cheap enough to justify sacrificing 90% of your engine's expected service life. This engine if fairly expensive, BTW.
-Turn the key to the on position.
-Press the buttons on the steering wheel to display the 'Basic' screen.
-Then, press the up arrow.
-Press the reset button near the left side of the instrument cluster.

On my '04 '04 Viano 2.2cdi (w639) this procedure worked-but the small difference was that it was the+ button on the dash which had to be pressed- not the "UP" steering wheel button. Thanks.
