Nice try but all ABS brake systems are designed to disable, and work manually if a fault is detected. The reason for this is safety. Scenario: A left front sensor stops working, the computer sets a code, but the ABS still works. A situation arises that involves hard braking, the vehicle starts to skid, and the ABS activates. Since all the wheels are in a lock up situation the ABS cycles to pulse the brakes. The left front can not pulse because the sensor is malfunctioning. Three brakes pulse, the left front does not, the vehicle pulls hard left into oncoming traffic and a serious accident results with fatalities. The problem can be as simple as a sensor out of adjustment or a dirty sensor. A lot of brakes are bimetallic and the wheel sensors use magnets. Brake dust can be drawn to the sensor. This will cause a malfunction and a code. Get an estimate, get it repaired, add the cost to the selling price, and don't be another--"shove it off on Mary as long as it sells". ABS has been on the market a long time and operates different than standard brakes. Mary might not know this, hit the brakes too hard, and skid through an intersection. You survive but Mary doesn't. This is sometimes called cause and effect. Although the instigator
A faulty anti lock brake control pressure control valve can cause this in the ABS hydraulic control unit. The system is an active system, this means the brakes can be applied with no pedal input from you the driver, pressure is always present.
you have bought as pig in a poke ,yes 3 clicks is right on handbrake ,but its easy to do just remove the rear drums and adjust brakes manually, half hours work thats all ,but it would still pass mot because its on the rolling road brake tester and both rear brakes were within 25%,But as for it breaking down i cannot say without my dirty oil encrusted fingers playing with its vitals .but if your passing alicante spain i will have a look for you
there are 2 relays inbetween the 2 fans behind the front grill the wiring to the relays tend to corrode.
what you need to do is replace both relays and the wiring conectors
if it help, having the abs light on in your vehicle just means that the abs system has a fault. normaly the abs sensor on one of the wheels are abd in 85% of all vehicles. if you are worried about driving the car, no worries, it is still safe to drive and you will NOT lose your brakes. your brakes are manual and the abs is electrical. i would say take your car to a dealership and have them rub a diagnostic test on your abs. they will be able to help you more then a regular garage will. most dont have the ability to check abs systems
Hi:
The ABS light on means an ABS malfunction. You should be able to have a auto parts store scan your car and find out what code is tripped, for free, but my guess is that one of your front wheel speed sensors is out of whack, or dirty or something.
When the light is on, your normal brakes work fine, but you have no ABS, so your car will take longer to stop in emergency situations.
you may have a falty wheel speed sensor
you need to get it on a sutable diagnotic computer that can test individual abs sensors.
could also have a cracked abs rang on a front drive shaft
first your shudder is a warped brake rotor and you always grind or replace them in pairs.
and your sensor
90% of the time its a broken wire just check before you replave you sensor
