the clicking noise could be a relay trying to latch or a security system armed either way you have to have your BCM(body control module ) checked, le me know what is the diagnosis
Where do you
hear a valve or flapper moving??? Behind the dash ( instrument panel ) It sounds to like you have a electrical problem , not overheating problem . You need to test to see what the real engine temp. is . Also have vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ,Sounds like A/C is kicking on , the flaper noise you hear is probably the temp actuator inside the dash . You can buy the tool in the video at harbor freight cheap. Point it at upper radiator hose ,near the engine . The IPC illuminates the hot coolant temperature indicator in the message center when the IPC determines that the coolant temperature is greater than 128°C (262°F). The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the coolant temperature.
Are you getting any such message ? How to Use an Infrared Thermometer to Diagnose Car Problems
your battery is dead...plain and simple. try to turn on your headlights, if they do NOT come on then its obvious what is wrong. if the dash lights didnt come on then more than likely thats the battery. ultimately you may have to replace the alternator, that could be the cause for your dead battery not being recharged by the alternator while the vehicle is running. get a jump and leave the car running/driving for at least 30 minutes, turn it if the car starts and runs you may have to wait and see if you have the same problem in the near future, if so then it isnt your battery thats the problem, it would be the alternator at that point. If the battery is weak there won't be enough voltage to engage the solenid so it will click or do nothing. If the battery is good a bad solenoid will also.
Common problem with Grand ams. Your blinkers are wired into the warning flasher relay. The warning flasher button is located on the center of the dash with a red triangle emblem on it. Behind that button in the dash is a relay that is about 5 inches long. It needs to be replaced. Good luck!
we have an 03 grand am and took to mechanic. he replaced relay behind dash in center area behind radio. it still made clicking noise and he said it needed a new 250.00 plus turnsignal switch. went to junkyard and got one for 14.00. but it didnt help
we disconnected battery ( hoping that would eliminate chance of air bag going off) took out turn signal switch. placed switch on bench and took it apart with a T-10 torx bit. and cleaned TURN signal contact points with cloth. regreased a little with some of the grease that was in there. (not sure what kind of grease it is) Put back together and it seemed to eliminate clicking noise.
what side the does the noise come from?if right side the right cv axle if left side then left cv axle has gone bad common problem on front wheel drive cars.to make sure look under car and look next to tire there should be a black rubber boot that is accordion shaped if torn there's your problem.
