2003 Ford Explorer Sport rear turn signal acting up

2003 Ford Explorer Sport rear driver side turn signal is intermittently going out. What I mean is, I'll get in the truck and turn on the left turn signal, and it will blink real fast like it's out. I'll get out and check and it is indeed out. However, sometimes I'll be driving and it will blink normal and I will get out and check and it is working fine. ALSO, the brake and running light (while the headlights are on) works fine. It's just the flashing of the turn signal that is going in and out. So it's not the bulb right? What could it be? Are there multiple bulbs in there?

But the brake light ALWAYS works, never goes out. Isn't it the same bulb?

If it's only the rear turn signal that does this, check the plug where the bulb snaps in. if loose or bad connection to bulb, it will sometimes work and sometimes not. if its both the front and rear turn signal bulbs, could be the combination switch. these were common failures on fords

i believe its 2 separate bulbs. have someone push the brakes for you, turn on the signals to the right and look at the good side

2007 Ford Explorer flasher relay

There is no flasher relay , all done electronically by the smart junction box (computer )
The smart junction box (SJB) monitors the multifunction switch position by sending multiple voltage reference signals to the multifunction switch. When the multifunction switch is in the LH or RH TURN positions, or the hazard lamp switch is engaged, that input signal is routed to ground.
When the SJB receives an input from the multifunction switch indicating a request for a turn signal or hazard lamps, the SJB then supplies voltage to the appropriate turn lamps.

Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop or dealer .

Troubleshooting tail lights that stay on after switch is turned off.

More than likely the "multi-function" switch is bad. It is actually the turn signal, headlamp lever which is affixed to the switch which is located in the steering column.

2001 Explorer Sport ,Rear Driver Brake Light and Turn Sig. Broke

Rear lights are double filament bulbs one side for the lights other side for the brake/turn signals so it still may be a bulb. Do u have a test light or volt meter you can check to make sure u have power there when brakes or turn signals are activated. Or just try another bulb.
