My 2000 hyundai is making a loud noise all the

My 2000 hyundai accent is making a loud noise all the time. It has been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks. A friend of mine said he thought it was one of the pullys? Is it safe to drive? A mechanic told me awhile back that I would need my belts changed soon and I have not done that. Thanks!

ANY NOISE FROM A PULLEY MEANS A BEARING IS GOING OUT. IT WILL BREAK AND COST ALOT MORE TO FIX AND MIGHT EVEN CAUSE YOU TO LOSE STEERING. IF IT IS A WHEEL BEARING IT COULD LOCK A WHEEL UP ARE EVEN FALL OFF. PLEASE GET THIS CHECKED

Hyundai accent squealing very loud

You need to replace the belt.
Once a belt gets glazed it will slip no matter how tight it is.

I have a 2000 hyundi accent

Hi

Sounds like the timming belt is loose and or a pully is bad. However it could simply be a worn alternator or power steering belt.

Is this happening at cold start or is it happening all the time? When did this start happening? Was it "all of a sudden" or a gradual thing that is getting worse. Let me know.
