first mistake you make is to increase the fuse capacity to above that required. You have a short in the circuit and by putting such a large fuse in you run the very real risk of burning the wiring loom. Check the bulb sockets and check that the right bulbs are in the sockets. bulbs come in two styles. one has 2 contact points and is either for 2 filaments (stop and tail) or a earth wire (Plastic light units) and the other is a single contact that earths out through the metal base . If you have the wrong bulb in place the current will short directly across the contacts and the light will not come on and the fuse will blow. Fuses for tail lights will be 5 amp maximun
I had the same problem. I fix it my self. This is what you look for, is your a/c blower working when you turn the fan on. If a/c light come on but nut the blower fan.
Then under passenger dash you will see orange plug. It's held in with 2 screws. Remove 2 screws and pull resistor out. Disconnect orange plug and look at orange plug and the resistor if burn need to replace the resistor and the orange connector. That's your problem.
Now if your blower works but no power to a/c switch and you instrument nobles has no lights. Then it's a fuse check #48 and # 57 fuse that controls that

There is most likely a short in the wire feeding power to the bulb. Start at the back of the fixture and follow the wire look close for places where the insulation is cracked or worn. Pay close attention to places where it could rub on something. If you find a bad place, tape it up and see if that fixes it. If not keep looking till you find it. When you do, you'll have to replace that segment of wire.preferably all the way to the light.
Yes but not recommended you could try a 15 but wouldnt go more there is most likely a short causing this I would inspect the wires going to the stereo if it blows the 15amp fuse
I would trace the wire from the horn and see if it was inadvertently damaged when the alternator was installed. If you have a voltmeter, you can remove the horn fuse and check to see if there is continuity between the horn (non hot side) of the fuse and the car body. This would indicate a short in the wire running from the fuse box to the horn. You can also look around the alternator mounting area to see if any wires are being pinched. Hope this helps. Good luck!
the fuel pump and radio are not on the same circuit, most liokely the fuel pump is shorted, that is the most common cause, get under the truck and disconnect the fuel pump connector at the tank, if the fuse doesn't blow then u need a new pump.
