2001 cadillac has the blower motor inside passenger compartment, passenger side. Remove the kick panel under glove box and you'll see the blower motor assembly. Hope this helps.

This is a common problem with the cadillac...It's most likely your blower motor. Not sure how much for a new one on a 2001 cadillac but on my '96 cadillac it was around 100 dollars....located on the firewall. The engine has to be moved forward to allow enough room to access.....Sounds tough, but not so bad.

SOURCE: AC Fan

It is under the glove compartment - get down there and look up and you will see a round thing. The fan may be good, it could be a relay (at least it was in my 94 maxima).

Relays are the big blue things to the right of the fuse (by passenger door - not under hood). You will have to remove a body panel to get them (a few screws). Not sure which one it the fan, but over the years my cruise control failed (see my post under 1994 maxima under gummydmilo - was a typo). My instrument panel failed. And the fan so I ended up replacing all the relays.

If you remove the fan, you can hook it up to 12 volts (the car battery), if and see if it spins - just be careful.

SOURCE: fan blower stopped working

I had the same problem and Ia m working to resolve it.
You need to remove the blover under the glove box it's very easy to remove. 1) remove the glove box, 2) the metalic suport that it's hold by 4 screws and finally remove the 3 screws that holds the blower. Take it off and remove the coverplate of the motor ( 2 screws) and
check the brushes. In my case they were worn out. So you need to buy a new motor with the blower aprox $50 or try to replace the brushes.

SOURCE: The blower works blowing only cold air no heat? I

The heat is generated by a radiator located in your dash using engine coolant. You don't have heat because the valve that is controlling the coolant flow is closed - either it or the commands that is controlling it are broken - find which and fix them.

Testimonial: "Is this valve easily accessible? How do you keep it open? Commands, is that computer realted?"

SOURCE: the blower fan on the air/heat unit quit blowing

List of possibilities:
blower motor
resistors
relay
on/off switch.

This is not the item to attempt to fix by yourself if your a senior citizen. Because of the location of these items this is a back breaking job.
Unless the shop you go to attends to its customers while wearing ski masks take the vehicle to them . This is not a fixed income reaper. Good luck.

No heat while idling

Is your fan motor blowing? It could be that the fan has stopped working and you're only getting airflow from the forced air coming through the vents. Set the heater to "recirculate" and see if still get air when you're moving. If not, then your fan isn't working. COuld be a bad fan or a blown fuse. Check the fuse first.

You have a blown fuse, check them all including the under hood or trunk fuse center.

The fan stopped working for the rear AC/heat in our 2003 odyssey. Checked 40amp suqare fuse under hood and it tested ok. Is there a fuse or breaker for the rear fan motor?

The large fuse you checked is for the rear fan blower motor. The fuse you need to check is for the fan motor relays and rear mode control motor. It is fuse No. 3 (7.5A) located in the driver's under dash kick panel fuse box.

If fuse No. 3 is blown and you replace the fuse and it blows immediately, you'll have to check the five relays and the mode control motor all located near the rear A/C unit in the right aft sidewall. Most likely, the mode control doors have become jammed and that is why the fuse blows. The doors shift air from overhead vents (cool) to floor vents (heat).

If the fuse is fine, the trouble is probably with the blower motor itself or the wiring to the blower motor is broken, or there is a bad ground.

No air or heat blowing from vents

if the fan is blowing this could be a problem with the climate controll switch that changes the direction of air from floor to defrost to vents, some are vacuum controlled through a vacuum operated mechanism that opens and closes a door in the vents which redirects the air to different places.
