I own a 1998 Toyota Corolla. It's a stick shift and for the last week or so, I've had trouble shifting into 3rd gear. It will shift, but usually it's after grinding the gears a couple times. The clutch was just recently replaced maybe 6 or 7 months ago with a brand new one. What could be causing the shifter to have troubling getting into 3rd gear?

The synchronizing cone is worn out you need a tranny job, here's a way to check it drive first to second gear, second gear at high rpm 3000 to3500 rpm ,take foot off gas pedal, now step on gas gradually without clutching in try to put it in 3rd gear without any force if it goes smooth in 3rd gear then the synchronizing cone is worn out
