Can i permanently put my 90 300e 4matic to 2wd position. we do not have icy roads in the philippines. i have read in some forums that 2wd position in the "test" lever in the engine compartment must not be used for an extended period. i believe that in 2wd my transfer case will not be engaged thus prolonging its life. i have read that this is very expensive repair cost. thanks in advance for your inputs.

Just to be sure call a dealer & ask their opinion. Did u read this in the vehicles owners manual? Look a little further into it.

SOURCE: average repair cost on a 2005 c class 240 4matic

What is the problem? Usually by the time it needs a crank, it needs an engine. Call a local shop that specializes MB repairs.

2004 grand Jeep Cherokee is there a switch to put it in 2 wheel drive and where is this located

Not all cherokees were fitted with a 2 wheel drive option. You should have two shift sticks in the centre console. Your normal Park, Reverse and Drive selector and a smaller, shorter stick to the left of it.
This shorter stick will show you your drive options.
If you only have the first three listed yours is permanently 4 wheel drive, sometimes called AWD, (All Wheel Drive).
Starting furthest away from the engine, they should read as...
4Lo - Low ratio 4 wheel drive used just for 'off road' driving.
N - Neutral. This disconnects ALL drive to ALL the wheels.
4 FULL TIME - High Ratio 4 wheel drive. Normal road 4
wheel drive.
"Options that might not be fitted".
4 PART TIME - Automatically switches from 2 wheel drive
to 4 wheel drive if the rear wheels start to lose grip.
2WD - Dedicated 2 wheel drive only. Power is sent to the
rear wheels.

Should I be .driving my Nissan Dualis in 2WD or in the Auto position

The best and recommended is Auto mode.
The computer will sense the road conditions and adapt accordingly.
In 2WD on gravel mode or in slippery conditions might affect your traction.

I put 2014 rims on my 2010. Tire pressure issues. screen on the dash is showing psi's blank. how do I reset? I assume these 2014 rims would have stock sensors in them, and there basically brand new.

Some Chrysler ,Jeep and Dodge vehicles have ttye pressure sensors calibrated to the vevicle,so therefore if you change the
tyres to a different type you will need to take your vehicle to a C.J.D.
service department to have the computer of your car re-programmed to accept the new tyres

Jeep will not go back int 2-w drive

my guess... is car is 4wd not AWD, like my wrangler
and non go back to 2wd from 4wd if car is sitting on dry pavement.
you never stated road conditions ,so i guess at dry road and not offroad.
Partime 4wd is only for ICE or offroad, if you read the lost operators guide it tell you that.
the solution (TSB subject) is to drive to dirt and switch to 2wd.
if no dirt, jog car in a straight line, and try , forward the back the try.
or jackup one wheel. and try.
its locked in to 4wd due to WINDUP, (bad driving)

How can I put the suburban into 4x4

I have a 1994 4x4 Suburban. In mine, there's a stick on the hump in the floor, and I'm sure this is the case with yours too. This year model does not require that you get out and lock your wheel hubs. There are labels that are supposed to light up to tell you if you're in 2wd, 4wdHigh, or 2wdLow, but mine don't seem to work. If it's dark out and I can't see the labels, I just have to remember that 4wd High is all the way towards me, 4wd Low is all the way forward, and 2wd in sort of in the middle (but closer to me than the actual middle).

To shift into 4wd High (which is what you'll use for most purposes, like driving in bad weather), just pull that stick back towards you in one swift motion. You can do this while you're parked or while driving forward down the highway.

To shift back out of 4wd High and into 2wd, just push that stick forward a little bit, to where it was before.

To shift into 4wd Low (which is what you'll use only for extreme conditions, like off-road mudding or getting out of your driveway in super deep snow), you have to be stopped. You can NOT just shift into 4wd Low while you're going down the road. First, put it into Neutral (with the shifter on the steering column), Then push that stick on the floor all the way forward. Mine is hard to push, so I use my foot.

To shift back into 2wd from 4wd Low, you need to be stopped and in Neutral also. Pull the stick back towards you to the same position it was in before. (Not all the way towards you, or you'll be in 4wd High instead of 2wd.)

Hope that helps.

ICV WARNING LIGHTS IS ON IN MY 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA

Are you check the Owners Manual ? This warning actually spells ICY... and it is an automatic indicator to warn of ICY roads and weather conditions.

The word ICY means that temperatures outside are near or below freezing. Its a warning for possible icy conditions on the road. Its a feature that comes with your trip computer along with the temperature gauge.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2012 tundra and the steering wheel shimmys at 55-65mph. the truck has 15000 and never has been 4 wheeling or off roading, only used on icy roads. There are others on tundra forum reporting the same. Who else is struggling with this issue, and what is the fix..
