05 Lincoln LS 3.0 V6. Outside air temp 32F. Starts up strong then abrupt idle decay to eventual stall. It takes numerous attempts to get the rpm up long enough to heat the engine. When engine is warm no problem. While cold starting, I'm pushing on the gas as it is drawing down in rpm. Decay gets to 500 rpm and the engine starts chugging so I turn it off. I had the throttle body cleaned today and it was dirty. Condition improved but not much.
As it draws down, engine in running in balance - no misfires.
Any ideas?
This sounds like you have a pcv hose that has become an open vacuum leak. It is located under the upper intake, or given the year your air filter box may not be correctly sealed and possibly have a mass air flow sensor concern. Any Check engine light or codes to work with ? I f you have further questions just leave a comment on my page,
