Check the insulator for carbon tracking down the boot. this was not an uncommon problem for these cars. also check porcelain for cracks and these plugs should be either ngk or nd.

If your 96 E250 300ci was running perfectly and then started missing and the code is indicating a miss fire in cylinders 1 and 2, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check the ignition system: Make sure that the ignition system is functioning properly. Check the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and ignition coil for any signs of wear or damage.
Check the fuel system: Make sure that the fuel system is functioning properly. Check the fuel filter, fuel pressure, and fuel injectors for any signs of wear or damage.
Check the compression: A compression test can help to determine if the engine is getting enough compression to run properly. Low compression in cylinders 1 and 2 can cause the engine to miss fire.
Check the vacuum lines: Make sure that the vacuum lines are properly connected and not leaking. Any vacuum leaks can cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
Check the PCV valve: The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
Check the EGR valve: The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
Check the Engine Control Module: The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the ignition and fuel systems and if it's malfunctioning it can cause the engine to miss fire.
It's important to note that some of these steps may require special tools and knowledge of the vehicle's engine system, so it's best to take it to a professional mechanic to avoid causing more damage.
How many miles on it ? I recommend doing a compression test on that cylinder if you haven't already done it ! Before you replaced all those parts did you check for spark ? Could have saved the expense ! You could have a burnt valve ! What did the spark plug look like ? The end that goes in the engine ! You can tell a lot by the look of the spark plug , was it wet looking , fuel fouled Black ,carbon fouled , nice tan color , what ? How to Read Your Spark Plugs Davison Automotive
Missing problem requires to check the following systems and components:
1. Fuel system. (Fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors).
2. Ignition system. (Spark plugs, spark plug cords or wires, ignition coil, distributor (cars with distributor type ignition system, rotor, distributor cap, ignition amplifier), Coils On Plugs (COP) and correct sequence of the spark plug wires and or Igniter connectors.
3. Air leakage in the intake manifold.
4. Detached vacuum hose.
5. PCV Valve.
6. Servo brake booster pipe or diaphragm.
7. Valve clearance.
8. Cylinder compression.
9. Contaminated fuel.
10 . ECM.
Could only be a few things. The coil #1, Fuel injector #1, Stuck intake or exhaust valve, or blown head gasket allowing coolant into cylinder #1. Use a spark tester to check the spark coming out of cylindr #1 if checks good then ohm test the injector when it is warm. Check other injectors to compare. Do a compression test on cylinder #1 and test other cylinders to compare. If cylinder is low compression suspect valves and or head gasket. If compression is low then het a leak down tester to test if a valve is broke or sticking. On your sable i would suspect injector or coil most likely.
double check plug wires to be sure they go to the right cylinders. After that i would check fuel injectors
You need a listening device and listen for metallic clicking sound. Bad injectors will be silent and they do cause the same miss
check or change spark plug look at the wire check if spark come from the coil check the compression if evething is good injector defectif hope it FIXYA problem pierre
