97 Astro with new fuel filter and pump. Plugs, wires and cap! Still won't start. DEaler says that it will need a spider assembly. They say its leaking. However when you take the cover off from the inside you don't smell any gas...any suggestions? Also if it is the Spider assembly and I am able to get one off a wrecked/junked one will i have to buy any thing else that i won't be able to take off the junked? Ie; O rings....

1 more thing. If it is the spider assembly and it was leaving a puddle shouldn't you be able to smell it? Thanks

I would not use a junk yard spider injection unit, the worst thing is when they sit, anyway you will need a upper intake gasket set, also when you remove the upper plinum check the lines coming into the intake that feed the spider, those leak causing flooding and no start, see if gas is puddled in that area, you will see the lines once upper intake plinum is removed. hope this helps.

I have a 97 s-10 blazer when u drive it it spits and spiders what causes that problem

Air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, injector/s, plugs and wires, cap and rotor. This is what you would call a complete tune up.

1996 chevy suburban runs bad has new fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs wires cap rotor fuel regulator coolant temp sensor cleaned maf reman engine with 40k on it

Check if the spiders are bad... I May be off a year with application but if the spider was never replaced you are due. spider is the part that plugs into manifold to each intake runner for fuel injection, The plastic tubes get brittle and start to dribble. when one or more brake you get raw fuel not atomized fuel.

My 2002 Chevy Blazer won't start?

If you replaced the injector after the plugsthey may be fuel fouled.Pull the plugs and clean them.(you can sandblast them,or use a method I used to use-shoot a little starting fluid on them and use a lighter to burn off the contamination of too much fuel).I can't believe GM kept using this stupid design so long-I remember nearly new Vortec V6s with this same problem in the '90s.

My 97 chevy astro wont start when cold but well when i spray starting fluid in the intake ive changed every thing in the fuel system including the pump

what is the fuel pressure with key on and engine off? since you mentioned spider injector assembly it has to be a vortec engine that requires 55psi to open the poppet valve in the injectors just to start.

97 s10 4.3 vortec..flooding when engine is hot. Went from 24 mpg to 13. Changed fuel pressure regulator. egr valve.Plugs, wires, cap and rotor button. Fuel pressure stays between 55 and 61 at all speeds,...

The fact the fuel pressure does not hold after the pump stops is a big problem indicating a fuel leak into the upper manifold, which would cause the flooding. This leak could have several causes, but since the problem is still there after replacing the regulator, it sounds like the problem is with the injector in the spider assembly.
It sounds like you have a design 1 spider assembly, with only one fuel injector distributing fuel to the six poppets. If that is the case, I suggest you try replacing the entire assembly (which will include a new regulator) with the Delco design 2 version which has injectors on each poppet.

When you replaced the fuel pump, did you have you switch to the new harness? Check your wiring.
Could it simply be a relay?

Do you hear the fuel pump running?
Did you replace the fuel filter? Should be on the frame under the driver.
