2003 1.4 deisel. Cuts out when cornering. Stalls

When the engine stops, the power steering stops because the engine powers the power steering pump with the serpentine belt.

There could be many reasons the engine stopped and the fuel pump is just one of them. Check for DTCs and diagnose the vehicle electronically with a pro grade scan tool computer.

Did you ever change the fuel pump? most of the time when fuel pump is weak does that on hills, and then is hard to restart

If there is no fuel leaks the checkvalve in the fuel pump inside the tank is bad, replace the fuel pump with a ford unit

when mr deisel invented the engine he used peanut oil (diesel fuel wasnt invented)you can use biodiesel in any diesel engine although the makers(ford etc)will tell you NO(they dont want any warranty problems).
the only downside is biodiesel will clean lines/tank and any free floating bits will clog filters.some fuel lines will need to be changed {LOOK UNDER BIODIESEL IN HAWAII) marine engines in the islands use only biodiesel as it is NOT poisonous to marine life.

try to clean the valve

i think you have a fuel pressure problem on your fuel rail get them to do a fuel pressure check most ford dealers can not do this so find yourself reputable diesel specailist

take of the fuel sender hose of tank and be prepared to catch any spills wen finshed fill with deisel

Have your electrical wireing checked for shorting & grounding -to body metal-faults.In perticular the leads to the instrument cluster-look for wireing insulation cuts or cracks & have them taped or sleeved
