There is a shaft seal in automotive water pumps that can fail.
You will know if it's that seal because water will be dripping from the bottom of the water pump.
If the water is not near the water pump, then look for a freeze plug that is leaking.

That is the engine oil cooler. Don't remove it if you don't have to! There are Orings that would need to be replaced and it has to be squeaky clean to get it to seal correctly. Pour hot water on the rad hoses or cut them off instead and replace.

Recent head gasket repair. leaking coolant and fuel

Sounds like one of 3 things.... (none are good)

Someone made a mistake on a freeze plug and thats the leak.

The water pump wasn't installed properly, leaking from the base.

The block is cracked near the water pump.

As for the smell of fuel..... something was not re-installed properly and you have a fuel leak.

Sorry this was not a solution as much as it was bad news.

Replace water pump

Either you have made a mistake and do not have a proper gasket seal or the pump is bad. Chances are that if you just installed the pump that there is a gasket sealing problem not a malfuction of the actual pump itself.

Experiencing frequent oil leaks on front timing seal on Isizu KB 300 LX,Mileage 345,000, Please help, I have changed twice still leaking heavily

If you are changing seals and water pumps that frequently then the problem is run out in the end of the shaft. Could be a bad balancer or bearing. This is a major overhaul, I am sorry.

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima with a 3,5 engine. I pour water in the radiator and it pours out of an opening above the altinater. This happended after a deep freeze in Texas. I think it may be the water...

A core plug may have blown out due to freezing. They are designed to do that to protect the block. I know this did not directly answer your questions but hope it is helpful anyway I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

1992 Cadillac still Leaking coolant after water pump change.

Where does the coolant drip from? I had one and only one Cad from this era with the same problem. Turned out to be the recovery bottle cap would let go under operating pressure even though it passed the pressure tester test. Just one of those things.

93 benz with steady leak of water from water pump area. is it pump or seal. Or is there a freeze plug right there too?

There's a bleed-hole to warn you that it's time to change the water-pump. Also look around the thermostat to make sure its not faulty.

I need to change the water pump. also if the water pump is leaking will this stop the engine from starting

no, leaking water pump just means it is time to replace your pump. Not continue driving until you get around to it. replace it now. If it is not starting something esle is wrong. Unless you've over-heated the engine.
