First of all using starter fluid damages the cylinder head gasket. Take cap off of gas tank look for small clear line with filter on end - Is the filter submurged in fuel , or is it dirty and need replacement? make sure the filter in in the bottom of the tank. After all that, if it still does not work check all mounting fasteners and everything is tight and appears to have no leaks I would say its the carburetor diaphragm, less than 10 bucks and easily replaced.

Where is the SPEED SENSOR LOCATION FOR for a 2006 Impala 3.9 automatic V-6?

What's the fuel pressure ? Do a fuel pressure an leak down test . When do you need to use starting fluid in the morning after the vehicle sit's over night ? All the time ? Speed sensor has nothing to do with this . A bad speed sensor would cause transmission shifting problem's , Speedometer not working , engine would not run right etc.... There is a check valve in the fuel pump to keep pressure in the fuel lines ,fuel rail . Sounds like check valve is bad , letting fuel drain back into the tank .

ISO definitive eng compartment pic/diag/schematic of fuel line & line-pressure valve/access, bleed disconnects + alt intake spots 4 starting fluid, beyond air filter intake.

to remove contaminated fuel , pull a fuel line of the fuel manifold and run the pump for a few seconds
not firing is sensor , immobilizer , ignition module problem but you stat that it fires on starter fluid so that cannot be right
starter fluid is a d good way of damaging the engine
a better way is to find and fix the fault
now to try and sort out what you are saying
it is cranking so the starter is good
it tries to run on starter fluid so there is spark to the plugs
it will not run and that indicates a lack of fuel to the injectors
a lack of fuel indicates
1--- a bad fuel pump
2--a vacuum in ht e fuel system from the tank not venting properly(EVAP system)
3--- fuel pressure regulator not working and providing pressure to the injectors
4--- bad injectors --- need cleaning
dump the starter fluid , buy a workshop manual and fix the problem properly

Fuel pumps are not working fires up if u spray start fluid in carb

It would greatly help to know make, model, and year, but in general you check fuel pump pressure with a gauge, and if the pump is electric, it always has a relay so there is the ability to have a safety cut out. Some vehicles use lack of oil pressure to cut out the pump relay, but most use the alternator output. Fuel injection usually has from 20 to 40 psi fuel pressure, and carb systems from 3 to 10 psi.

My 1999 the engine keeps just shut off while driving down the road the engine keeps turning but wont crank I put some engine starter in the carb.and it tried to start.could it be the fuel pump

if it was the fuel pump engine should start with starter spray at least for a second or two, so, it sounds like your fuel pump is bad.
turn ignition to run and try hearing the pump run.

Engine shut down during driving and wont restart

Three things cause an engine not to start. Lack of fuel, Lack of spark ( ignition ) and lack of compression. If you spray a little starting fluid into the aircleaner and it starts and theen quits, then you know it is a fuel problem if it won't start on starting fluid then it may be electrical. I am assuming the compression is good. If it was not then your engine would sound like a sewing machine when turning over. If it is electrical, there are quite a number of culprits, if it is fuel related suspect the pump or the power supply to the pump.

Engine turns over strong but wont start.....sprayed starter fluid inside air intake and it started,,,so i know spark is good...runs great when it is running just wont start...no fuel supply obviously but...

one answer is lack of compression in the cylinders, normally associated with high miles.
could also be valve seats/spark plug gap/dirty air filter, there are a few more but start with the cheapest to diagnose and work up.....

FUEL PUMP MAYBE? is it common?

yes it is very likely it is a fuel pump sticking, to verify this buy a can of spray starter fluid, next time it won't start spray the starter fluid into theintake air hose on the engine, if it starts and then quickly shuts down u need a fuel pump, also replace the filter.

How can i fix a clogged fuel pump on a 2001 chevy malibu. the fuel pump is working ( you can hear it hum when you turn the key) I removed my back set to make sure and the car will turn over but wont start....

Have you changed the fuel filter? Did it die while driving, or just wouldn't start? Don't use starting fluid on a gas engine! It will cause a lot more problems than it solves. Ether, starting fluid is made for diesel engines... not gas, not ever. If it won't start, it isn't lacking ether. It's lacking gas, air or spark.
