If you ran it hot they are bad for blowing the head gasket...hope that is not the case !!!!! Maybe the batt died and alternator cain't keep up or the computer went on it...? Best of luck to you !

You haven't given enough info to diagnose the problem. Did the car die while idling? Could it be restarted? Will it run if you keep your foot on the gas pedal? Etc...

The Taurus has overhead cams, no pushrods. The cams are in the valve covers.

Yes and the way it runs.
Disconnect and plug the vacuum lines to the EGR, and see if you still have idle and driveability issues. If not replace the Valve.

1997 Ford Taurus, after running a while looses power then dies, wait for two hours and start again.

on the side of the disupter there is a box with a plug in it it is called a stater replace it that should fix the problem

check for loose cables check fuel filter check the battery see if terminals are clean also check fuses
