Cat engine block heaters go in the soft plug on the side of the block. I get those at NAPA auto supply. They have a chart of what position it goes in according to your truck.

2005 Chevy Avalanche. Can anyone help me with instructions on how to install the resister?

Question edited a bit for clarity.
Question moved from Cellphones category.

Not sure what you mean by 'the register'. That is an old fashioned name for a heater radiator? Do you mean something to do with the heating system, like vents of blend door actuators that control heat and cold direction?

or a window regulator.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

It doesn't have one. Click this link, click on the Autozone link with the picture of one. One the site, add your year and engine, NONE comes up, it doesn't have one. There are no videos showing it for that model.

How many gear shifts solenoids on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche

The 2005 Chevy Avalanche is available with different transmission and shift options, which can affect the number of transmission shift solenoids present.

However, generally, the 4-speed automatic transmission (4L60E) used in the 2005 Chevy Avalanche typically has a total of 7 transmission shift solenoids. These solenoids are used to control the activation and deactivation of the transmission's clutches and valves, allowing the vehicle to shift gears smoothly and seamlessly.

It's important to note that the number of transmission shift solenoids may vary depending on the year, model, and configuration of the Chevy Avalanche.

2005 Chevy Avalanche Z71 - whistle tied to revs, possible vacuum leak, any ideas?

A vacuum leak would cause the check engine light to come on and throw a code. It is more likely mechanical. Ideas in the link.

2005 Chevy Avalanche - my heater contol turns the fan off when I put it on #5......works fine on 1, 2, 3, and 4, but as soon as I turn it to 5 ....it stops.....

Motor switch has gone out, most likely due to high load on level 5. Replace switch and I suggest lubricating blower motor bearing to help take the strain on the system.

Heater issue, driver side of 2004 Chevy Avalanche

1. Place the ignition switch in the off position.
2. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for 10 seconds or more. It's in the under hood fuse box. Put the temp in full cold.
3. Install the fuse.
4. Start the engine. DO NOT TOUCH THE HVAC CONTROLS FOR LESS THAN 45 SECONDS.
5. Have any codes cleared with a scan tool.
