Audi 1999 a4 runs rough the car idles up and down the car has been setting for 6 months with close to about a quarter tank of gas i put about 1 gallon of new gas in it but it still is acting funny ill have the car half floored and it idles up and down on its own and then the car kind of shakes once im done idling like its getting ready to quit running the check engine light is on and the service maintance light is on as well the car wont go no faster than like 3 mph and i have to have it like half floored it goes and stops but barly stays idling what do you guys think is wrong with my car
I think the fuel has gone bad. it's cloging the injector ports. Try this first remove all fuel from the tank, replace the fuel filter. add 5 gallons of fuel and one bottle of fuel treatment. Run the engine for an hour
this will allow all of varnish from the bad fuel to disolve and clean the injectors. Don't be suprised
if this doesn't totally elimnate the problem chances are the plugs are fouled and need to be replaced also. Good luck
