Hi:
The fan running after the car is off is a normal condition , if the temperature sensor is detecting the engine is still hot. You should continue to check out the cooling system to see where the leak is...First, check your coolant level when the engine is cold, then try to determine approx where the dripping is coming from, either the engine area or the radiator . This will help you determine what is wrong, and go from there. If the leak isn't substantial, a bottle of Radiator stop leak might be a good start.

The fan on my 1998 durango will not work but the engine turns over could it be a spark plug

Your water pump is seized and will need to be replaced. The part behind the pulley that wont move is the water pump. It has probably been making a lot of noise for a while?

03 impala temp fluct then overheats

It sounds like your water pump is shot. The small antifreeze leak is the coolant probably coming from the weep hole on the water pump. If you ran the car while the temperature was up, you may have to watch the head gaskets from now on as they may be shot. Water pumps wear out around 100k to 150k miles usually.

Car is from 1987, a Subaru ,has a waterleak just after the fan, wat could be the problem?

If this LEAK is Just BEHIND the FAN (ON ENGINE SIDE this 1 Thermostat or 2 WATER PUMP, At This AGE I Would have to Bet On the WATER PUMP and if so Have the Thermostat Replaced at the SAME time this Will Help WINTERIZE it and Eliminate any Cooling System Related Problems.

check if the fan works first, simple run a wire from the battery post positive to the positve wire on the fan if it starts then it works, next step clip the wires on the fan and conect the ground on good metal and the positive on ur fuse box,but not on any fuse, only on the fuse that turns on with the ignition,.
