If there is no grease sert on the joints then they are maintenance free. the aftermarket ones will have a fitting on them to shoot grease in.

Grease gun with an adapter that allows you to get into a tighter space. Any auto parts place will sell these. Note, that a lot of replacement u-joints have grease fittings, as some stock ones don't require grease.

My 98 tacoma squeaks when i turn the wheels

Grease the Ball Joints, three per side (upper control arm, lower control arm, steering tie rod. if there aren't any grease zerks, its time to replace your ball joints. You can do this yourself with the parts from AutoZone or O'Reilly or Napa. I suggest you rent the ball joint tool as it will make your work a lot easier.

How often do I change the oil in a 2003 4 door prerunner with a 2.7 Liter engine?

I replaced the plugs and air filter on my 2000 tacoma 2.7 liter and i am getting terrible gas mileage and a funny emissions smell

smells to a wrong spark plug type, double check your numbers, if doubt call your locall toyota dealer parts department. Toyota vehicles are very sentimental about originall equipment plugs, dont like aftermarket plugs, also check your air filter housing and make shure all hoses are atached.
Good luck

Location of the fuel filter on 2000 toyota tacoma 2 wd std cab

Oil filter on a 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner with 6 cylinder IS a screw on filter located on the drivers side front of the engine (just beneath the alternator).

Can't recall the size but, you need a socket with extension to get to the bolts holding the skid pan then, wiggle/lift it from it's hooks. Then, you can either cuss, cuss, cuss while removing the old and installing the new OR, jack the drivers side up 4 to 6 inches ( gives you a bit more wiggle room and keeps you from scraping your elbow to the bone on whatever surface you're working on).

Even then, be ready for a good cussing bout because there still isn't much room.

I have squeek coming from my truck only when iam at a idle speed going down the highway but not when i am accelarate

I do not know the answer to this problem, however I am in the same boat. My 2000 tacoma prerunner has recently started doing the exact same thing. No noise on accelerate, idle, or when sufficiently warmed up (20 minutes or so after driving). What I do know is that it is Not my brakes as I have relatively new pads (<1 year old) and Not the belt (i had it checked). Because it does not make the noise on idle, this makes it terribly tricky to track it down. So, if anyone can help us solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Drive shaft noise

Most double cardan driveshaft joints have a bearing in the center.
Any good repair shop and/or driveshaft specialist shop can repair/change the assembly or make a new one if needed..
