1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo won't fire. Was driving it, when it shut off, now won't crank just turns over. Not getting any fuel, no fire to the ignition coil but firing to the distributor ok. Overdrive was not kicking in when driving before shut off. Other than replacing PCM what could we do to get it up and running again?
Check the cam sensor and crank sensor, also is the distributor turning, possible distributor gear pin broke
check the fuses going to the ECM and the Gauges fuse, make sure there is power on both sides of the fuses get back to me and we' ll try some other things, also needengine size and is the security light on
Remove the fluid reserve where you put the water and you will see the computer with one screw on each side of box under the clamps. Detach the clamps this resets the problem to where it wipes it out. Before you put the clamps back in place. Back out the screws a half turn. plug the clamps back in but before you put the fluid reserve system back in crank it to see if it starts if it doesnt the first time wiggle the clamps and then try again. I know this may be hard to believe but I looked it up did it and it actually worked. My car started and never died again. Its always the stupid little things.

The distributor is turning, but will check the others. Thanks, I will post what we find.
We found that there is also no power going to the crank sensor. None of the gauges are working, either. So any more advice would be appreciated. If someone had this problem and fixed it please HELP! Thanks
dose this model have both a crank sensor, and distributor?
also you might check ignition switch
