DISCONNECT YOUR DRIVE SHAFT FROM THE REAREND THEN TURN YOUR REAR BY HAND AND IF YOU STILL HEAR CLICKING OR GRINDING
DETERMINE FROM SIDE OR MIDDLE. IF NOT BRAKES THEN REAREND BEARINGS. THESE REARS WERE FAMOUS FOR REAR BEARINGS.
AFTER REPAIR INSTALL SYNTHETIC FLUIDS.

2001 gmc safari cargo van, there are two large bolts located just inside the rear doors on floor aproxx 12" from rear doors they are large torx head 1-1/2" long bolts. What are they for???

My guess would be to hold the van body to the frame. I've noticed the manufacturers like using Torx and other patterns that many homeowners don't have in their toolbox.....I'm guessing for safety and litigation reasons.

My 2003 gmc safari cargo van has been trying to overheat when I turn ac on what could it be?

If your gmc safari cargo van overheats when the ac is on, your radiator and cooling system may be clogged and not working at peak efficiency.

Make sure your radiator cooling fan goes on as soon as you turn the a/c on.

Rear Wheel Seal & Bearing on 1999 GMC Safari Van

Yes you do have to pull the axle and make sure you put everything back in the same place you removed it from. The ring and pinion shouldn't have to be bothered. You will have to remove the rear end cover to remove the axle. Its very easy to do. There is a pin inside the rear end that has to be removed to pull the axle. Pay attention to how you take it out and put it back the same way. It sounds as if you can do this with no problem.

1999 GMC SAFARI VAN REAR END HUMMING

This rear end needs to be replace or re-built

This rear end needs to be replaced or re-built. The gears and or bearings are worn/shot. May be able to get a complete rear end from a Junk yard for much less, one in good condition. Good Luck
