Positive Battery Cable. I don't know of it any other way. I have heard of the Negative Cable called an Earth Cable, but nothing else for the Positive.

I have 2002 toyota sequoia that the battery light will come on intermittenly and the battery will start to discharge, alternator tested good

You need to have your battery load tested. Clean your battery terminals and apply some corrosion inhibitor. Make sure all your terminals are tight. Beyond that you will need to start tracing the power connections elsewhere for things like bad connections or grounds and connections at the alternator. An alternator can still be bad if the rectifier/regulator start breaking down once they get hot.

How to replace old battery with new in a 2002 oldsmobile silhouette

Take note of any radio codes. If you don't know them, get a small or another 12v battery, a set of small jumper leads, connect the leads clips to the matching cables on the car at the battery. You are now supplying a small current in parallel. Using a buddy to hold the battery terminals away from the bodywork remove the negative first, then the positive. Remove battery and replace with new battery. Reattach positive terminal first then negative, then remove small jumper cables and it should have preserved your codes etc.

Door Open light blinks rapidly making a clicking noise when trying to start the car and will not turn over. No lights except for the one flashing very quickly.

Sounds like you have either a dead battery or a bad connection on the positive/negative terminals or the starter motor or the ground to body connection? It is also possible for the cable to have corrosion built up inside the insulation causing a resistance? Clean your battery terminals first then if a charger is unavailable using booster cables connect the positive cable to the dead battery then the positive cable to the jumper battery then connect the negative cable to dead battery and positive cable to jumper battery and attempt to start the car if same conditions then the xonnections may either be loose or corrosion hampering voltage to be supplied efficiently! A digital voltmeter will or should show a 12-volt reading on the battery if less than 12-volts the battery needs to be charged or replaced?

Postive battery cable very hot

Turn off and check positive cable for wear, if the cables outer covering is damaged, it can short to the chassis or other metal parts of the car.. and cause the cable to heat up. Leave it in that sate long enough and it will eventually melt. or in extreme cases cause a fire. If you find any damage, then replace said cable immediately

1994 chevy dually 454 tbi wont start i place starter because terminal broke i check power while trying to start and volts drop down from 13 to like 3 volts whith battery charger on high start i unplug...

To start recheck terminals.I am only guessing but remove the battery terminals and clean them like your going to use them to eat with! Both battery terminals and both cables. If there is still a problem, i would say starter, battery, or a corroded positive battery cable( under insulation within the first 2 ft. recheck battery voltage after a few mins to help verify correct state of charge. be safe!

I was removing the battery from my 2002 buick le sabre and the battery post broke in positive battery connection and I can't seem to get it out. How do I replace the positive battery cable?

go to a parts store and get a battery cable puller. this will drive the old post out of the connector. clean it well before you attach it to the new battery and put some sealer on it, also available at a parts store. if you have messed up the connector,,,,,, you can buy a new terminal at the store and put that one. again coat the thing down with a sealer when you are done.

My radio is locked. Have code but radio is off

Try to disconnect the battery negative terminal, then the positive terminal. Leave the terninals disconnected for about .30-minutes to clear the radio's memory.

After thirty minutes, connect back the negative terminal of the battery, then the positive terminal.

Then enter the radio code and see what happens. If it still fails to turn-on, then repeat the procedure.
