Hi there. My brand new 2009 sportage has a problem when you take your foot off the accellerator the revs don't come down for some time. therefore when changing gears it doesn't come down in-between gears at all. Mechanics here are telling me that it's supposed to be like this. Please help! I have had over 13 cars and have never had anything like this. they say Kia have put a delay on the injectors???
Take it to an accredited service center that has experience on your vehicle as it is not brand new as it is 8 years old and items like the MAF/VAF sensor could be slow to respond and signal a air flow change to the ECM
the thing is that it is to be fix or adjust so that the rpm change is in response to the pedal setting
Could be a slow reaction throttle position sensor or a problem pedal position sensor
have the fault codes read at the service center to get a closer idea as to the fault area
I don't think that a delay would be on the injectors as stated as it would created a dangerous drive situation in the event of hard braking as the engine would still be producing power against the brakes and that would stop the ABS from being effective

Check with your DMV regulations, different states allow different things. You would need to have a towing cable to hook up to it so that the lights in the rear would work with your RV.
I would suggest getting a tower for the vehicle that would keep the front two tires off the ground so that your odometer doesn't rack up miles.
Let me know if this helps.

Here you go, just ignore part about removing sprockets. Click on pictures for larger view.

check both of your fuse panels for a blown fuse. there's 4-5 that control the fuel pump, engine sensors, fuel injectors and such. one of those may be blown and not letting the rest of the system function. one panel is located under hood, and one is under the dash on drivers side. when you take the covers off they have the fuses numbered and tell what they control.

It is probably a faulty Throttle Position Sensor. Also double check any vacuum lines for cracks or tears.
