Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

Scan tool or disconnect battery if you want to. You may get it back if there is any issue to be repaired

Why Would srs light stay on in a mitsubishi Eclipse 2003 model!

SRS means secondary restraint system - air bags. If the light remains on, it means the the air bag module has detected a problem with your air bag system. Have codes read (you'll need a reader that can read codes from the air bag module) to see what the problem is, and have it repaired. Best left to a dealer or shop that has experience with air bag systems.

How to reset SRS light on 2003 Toyota 4 runner

You will need to scan the codes for the air bag system to find out what is wrong, when the problem is repaired the system runs a test every time the engine is started and with repair done light will go off,

My srs light is on

Hi the srs light being on means your air bag system needs servicing, the reason being is that air cannistors that fire the air bags only have a certain life limit, once they reach this limit they need replacing as the air bag system wont be working properly until you get this serviced.

its not a job you can do yourself as the general public cant get the parts to do the work nor the machine to reset the system.

I'm trying to clear codes for a 1990 Celica GTS. Any hints??

You might try removing the battery connectors for five minutes and replacing back.

If the codes do not disappear, please you might have to get a scanner to do that.

Cheers.

Toyota Celica

Take the door panel off. There are plastic snaps holding the rods into the lock that need to be unsnapped and pivoted. Then the rods just pull out. The rest is just held on by bolts.
