The reason that they go down but not up is because they are usually binding in the track inside the door. You can remove the door panel and grease it with silicone grease to fix the problem. Usually its not the switch, but if you press it too much the switch will get burned out because it overheats inside from the current. If you remove the door panels, you should be able to switch the left and right switches to trouble shoot the switches. If you switch them and the right one goes down now, then you know the old right switch is bad.

99 durango, both front and back passenger side windows dont role down. driver side front and rear role up and down fine

There are a few possible reasons why the front and back passenger side windows on your 99 Durango aren't rolling down:
  1. Faulty window regulator: The window regulator is the mechanism that moves the window up and down. Over time, the regulator can become worn or damaged, making it difficult or impossible to operate the window.
  2. Electrical issue: It's possible that there's an issue with the electrical system that powers the passenger side windows. This could be caused by a blown fuse, a faulty switch, or a problem with the wiring.
  3. Window motor failure: The window motor is responsible for moving the window up and down. If the motor is faulty, the window won't move.
  4. Window switch problem: The window switch could also be the culprit. If the switch is damaged or not functioning properly, the window won't roll down.
To diagnose the issue, you can start by checking the fuses related to the power windows. If the fuses are intact, you can use a voltmeter to check if the switch is receiving power when it's pressed. If the switch is getting power, the problem could be with the window motor or regulator.
If you're not comfortable performing these diagnostic steps, it's best to take your Durango to a qualified mechanic or automotive electrician for further inspection and repair.

2008 CTS drivers door switches don't work Just replaced battery All fuses are good

Did the switch work before replaced battery ? 2008 CTS ? Cadillac ? These switches are inputs to a control module , DDM - driver door module . a computer of sorts . A lot of thing's can go wrong with these systems , broken power or ground circuits inside the rubber boot from the body to the driver door . Communication problems between control modules etc... Plus the power windows don't use fuse's , has a circuit breaker for front windows - PWR/WNDW circuit breaker 25 amp located in the fuse box under the back seat , Fuse's are used for rear windows - two 15 amp fuse's LT/REAR an rear ,both are in the rear fuse box under back seat. These rear windows are controlled by the BCM - body control module .

The power windows system consists of the following components:
• Driver door module (DDM)--GMLAN device that receives and transmits messages and signals for window functionality. The DDM contains the driver door switch (DDS) which is integrated into the module. The DDS contains the driver, front passenger, RR and LR window and window lockout switches.
• Passenger front door module (PDM)--GMLAN device that receives and transmits messages and signals for window functionality. The PDM contains the front passenger door switch (PDS) which is integrated into the PDM. The PDS contains the front passenger window switch.
• Left rear power window switch--Provides switched voltage and ground window switch signals to the left rear window motor for left rear passenger window operation
• Right rear power window switch--Provides switched voltage and ground window switch signals to the right rear window motor for right passenger window operation
• Left front power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the DDM and provides a status signal to the DDM
• Right front power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the PDM and provides a status signal to the PDM
• Left rear power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the left rear power window switch
• Right rear power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the right rear power window switch
• DRIVER DR MOD fuse (15-amp)
• PDM fuse (15-amp)
• PWR WNDW Circuit Breaker (25-amp) -- front
• LT/REAR/WNDW fuse (15-amp) -- rear
• REAR/WNDW fuse (15-amp) -- rear

Power Window Operation
The driver and front passenger doors are equipped with power window motors that contains its own module. Each power window motor receives a hot at all times battery supply voltage and constant ground source. When the right front passenger window switch on the DDS is activated to the up or down position, the DDM will interpret the signal and send a GMLAN serial data message to the PDM. Upon receipt of the message, the PDM will send a signal to the front passenger window motor module on the GMLIN serial data circuit. The window motor module will then supply battery voltage and ground to the window motor to drive the window motor to the up or down position.
The DDM communicates via the GMLAN serial data circuit with the body control module (BCM) to control the rear window functions from the driver master window switch. The BCM is hard wired to each rear power window switch with circuits for window up, window down, and an enable circuit. The rear window switches contain internal logic that when supplied with voltage from the BCM over the enable circuit will driver the appropriate window in the direction commanded.
The rear power window switches are supplied with battery voltage from individual right and left WNDW fuses located in the rear fuse block. When a rear power window switch is activated to the DOWN position, voltage is applied to the motor down circuit and the motor up circuit serves as the path to ground. The window motor will drive in the downward direction until the switch is released or the window has fully opened. When the window switch is activated to the UP position, voltage is applied to the motor up circuit and the motor down circuit serves as the path to ground. Ground for the left rear power window switch is supplied at G200 and the right rear power window switch receives ground at G201.

The power locks work the same .

After replacing the driver door switch (DDS) or passenger door switch (PDS), perform the programing procedure.

If you don't know any of what i posted your best bet , have a qualified repair shop check it out .

Hi, I'm trying to diagnose a non-working front passenger side power window switch on a 2008 Escalade. Only the lock/unlock function works. The window, mirror and mirror turn signal don't.

Yes they run a wire loom that has wires that are not used in some models. One thing you need to check is the wire loom because it flexes every time the door opens and closes and wires can break .Also you may want to go to autozone website and make a free account, you can put in the year make and model and look for the free repair guides for wire diagrams.

My power seats and only the power windows on right side quit working on my 2007 silverado classic lt1500 I replaced the circuit breakers already and it did not fix the problem

Does you truck have Memory Seats ? There are 2 options of power seat systems available in full size trucks. The first is 6 way driver and passenger power seats without memory. The second is an 8-way driver seat plus 4-way lumbar with memory, heat and optional cool function.
If you replaced the circuit breaker , did you check for B+ voltage at the switch ? If you have memory seats there is a control module that is in the mix.
For the power windows same thing here ,the BCM - body control module is involved .A factory Tech 2 scan tool is still the best tool to use ,checking data parameters .
The switch for the front passenger power window has 2 positions UP and DOWN, and it's position is a direct input into the PDS. Upon receiving a request for power window operation (switch activation), the PDS supplies voltage to the power window motor right front up or down circuit and grounds the opposite and the power window motor runs to drive the window UP or DOWN.
The front passenger power window can also be operated from the driver master control. The front passenger window switch on the driver master control has 2 positions UP and DOWN and it's position is a direct input into the DDS. Upon receiving a request for front passenger power window operation, the DDS transmits a GMLAN message indicating the changed switch position. When the PDS receives this message, the PDS supplies voltage to the power window motor right front up or down circuit and grounds the opposite and the power window motor runs to move the window UP or DOWN.
GMLAN - is a data bus communication network that vehicle modules talk together on.
Rear Passenger Power Window Operation (RPO A31/AN3/DL3)
The body control module (BCM) monitors the window UP/DOWN command from the DDS. When the rear window UP or DOWN command is received, the BCM sends a signal to the appropriate rear window switch. The rear window switches continuously monitor the up and down signal circuits, if no function is being commanded, the signal voltage is at approximately B+ voltage. If the UP or DOWN function is commanded, the BCM signal voltage drops approximately 5 volts and the appropriate rear window switch will then command the window in the UP or DOWN direction.
Your best bet would be to take your truck to a GM dealer !

The passenger side brake light, and passenger side (front and back) window control doesn't work is it a fuse?

Well, the short answer is no.
The lights and windows are are different fuses.
There's a slight chance you have a problem with a ground wire on that side, but I doubt the two problems are related.
I would check the light for power and ground, and look at the window switches for power and ground. The windows are powered thru the driver switch on most cars.

Own a 1996 Dodge Caravan. Power window doesn't work on drivers side, nor for the rear side windows. Replaced the power window switch and this did not solve the problem. The only window that works is...

nitescot, What you can try is to open up the rubber boot running from the body of the vehicle to the door. The constant opening and closing of the door will sometimes cause the wires inside the boot to break. This is a common problem when it comes to power windows. Open the boot with a knife being careful not to damage the wires inside. Look for any broken wires. Repair as necessary. Good luck with this.

All windows but drivers won't go up or down 2001 GMC yukon

If they sound like they are trying to do something it's not the lock out switch . But to be sure pulling out the switch an testing for B+ voltage to and from the switch . Plus pull the other door switches to see if they have B+ voltage and good grounds would be the thing to do.. If you don't know how to check automotive electrical circuits your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .
Passenger Power Window Operation
The passenger power window switches incorporate window up and down relays. The relay coil feed and supply sides are powered through the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit. The normally closed contacts of each relay is connected to ground. The load side of each of the relays are connected to either side of the power window motor through the power window up and down circuits. The up and down relay control circuits are connected to the normally closed contacts of the passenger window switch. These contacts are wired in series with the power window master switch, through the power window master switch up and down signal circuits and then to ground when the power window master is placed in the up or down position. This allows for the up and down operation of the passenger power window from the power window master switch. The center pole of the passenger power window switch is also connected to ground and will energize the relay when placed in the up or down position.

Driver Power Window Operation
The driver power window is unique from the passenger power windows in that it does not use window up and down relays. The driver power window is operated directly from the power window switch.
The normally closed contacts of the switch are connected to ground and the center pole is connected to the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit. By placing the left power window switch in the down position, voltage is applied to the power window motor left front down circuit and to the power window motor. The other side of the power window motor is connected to ground through the normally closed contacts of the left power window switch through the power window motor left front up circuit and drives the window down.
By placing the left power window switch in the up position the polarity of the motor is reversed and the motor drives the window up.

Has circuit breaker for B+ power
• PWR WDO CB 25A (fuse block) (System power for left and right windows 2-door vehicles. System power for LF and LR windows 4-door vehicles)
• PWR WDO CB 25A (IP wiring harness junction block) (System power for RF and RR windows 4-door vehicles)

Could be passenger door switch .
