Hi. i have a nissan pintara 1990 automatic. i have put it up for sale and was asked a question if it had power steering. i am not sure as i never drove it. when i look at the engine there could be a thing for it above wiper blade filler but i am not sure if it is for power steering. is there a way on knowing if it has power steering or not. thank you

    all the caps do not say what they r for. i cant drive it as not registered and no battery in it at the moment. i have a pic of the motor if that will help.

    i did that and the steering wheel was hard to turn. i then turned the can on so that it was going and the steering wheel moved easy. does that mean it does have power steering?

Look for a power steering fluid cap. or you should be able to know by driving it. Can you drive it?

I would almost bet that is does have P/S. To find out, start the engine and while sitting still if you can easily turn the steering wheel from side to side it has power steering. Also you could raise the hood and look and see if you see a power steering pump.

    Ok, just turn the ignition switch to the on position, and if you can turn the wheel it does not have power steering. You will not be able to turn the wheel if it has power steering. I cannot imagine a 1990 Nissan that does not have power steering.

Im quite sure it has power steering .look by the belt on the motor for a larger oval like shaped container made of metal that has a round cap on it it will read power steering fluid only on it you have power steering

That's probably because of the fact that they didn't make enough of that model of cars that they would put it on their website. That's what I would say. Just google clutch for australian Nissan Pintara and see what happens.

OK i just spent three hours with tha same problem really.
i removed casing around steering column done by removing 4 screws on the underside. the bottom half of the dash is also done up by a series of screws remove these also. Once bottom half of dash is removed there will be clips holding head unit in push these in and head unit should slide straight out. :)
