Coolant leak on a 1998 pontiac firebird v6

I have a coolant leak behind the "harmonic balancer", a fast drip, where could this leak be coming from?

It's probably your water pump dripping down behind the harmonic balancer. Many GM water pumps have a hole in the top of them. When they start to go bad, they start to leak out of that hole. I guess it's GM's way of "letting you know" there is a problem. If your water pump would just seize, and no indication was there, so you knew, you could burn you engine up in 10 minutes of driving.

V6 coolant leak

If it is in fact between the bellhousing and block, and not leaking down onto the outer surface of the bellhousing, its the freeze plug on the back of the block.
The engine or trans would need to be pulled to get to it.

probably a gasket that seals coolant behind cover. I don't remember if there is a freeze plug there.
sometimes a head gasket leak can do the same but not very common.

Dodge 318 v8 coolant leak

It could be coming from the timing cover. On older 318 engines there is a water passage on each side of the timing cover between the pump and the block. If the timing cover decays it can allow coolant to leak into the timing cover, which usually goes into the crankcase.

Where is the coolant temp sensor for a 1996 pontiac firebird v6

Coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold, close to the thermostat housing for the 3.4 liter and on the passenger side head for the V8's. Good luck and keep me posted.

Coolant leak from rear of engine in bellhouseing area

Sounds like you have a freeze plug that has rusted out. And it is located in side the bell housing behind the flywheel. You will need to remove the transmission and the flywheel to gain access to the freeze plugs. There are two of them at the rear of the engine above the center line of the crankshaft. One to the left and one to the right.

Crankshaft Position Sensor

The crank sensor is on the front of your engine behind the harmonic balancer. You will need a balancer puller for a 3.8 and a crank sensor alignment tool to do this lob.
