I have a 1997 Pontiac Firebird. I have no brakes, why?

Question edited for clarity, add maker, wrong type of 'peddle/pedal'. Question moved to model category. It has ABS Brakes, so you have to use a pressure bleed bottle that forces brake fluid from the wheel slave cylinder, through the ABS Valves and up the the master cylinder. You can't do it the 'old way'. https://www.google.com/search?q=pressure+brake+bleed+bottle ..

Nothing happens when I turn the ignition switch.

If you didn't do a load test on the battery, that is probably the problem - it may work properly under light load, but it is not uncommon for it to fail under heavy load, which can also cause a problem trying to jump start the car. If that is what's happening, replace the battery.

1997 pontiac firebrid trans am 5.7L auto trans car

Did you check all the fuses and do an error code (DTC) check? If all is well, then something in the wiring harness may be faulty. However, the BCM can also be the problem, but if so, you should be getting a DTC about it.

How do I turn off the security light on the dash of my 97 firebird

The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link may help you find ways to bypass this or fix it yourself.http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

1997 pontiac firebird does back pressure have any thing to with the egr valve on a lt1 engine

It could. The egr valve allows some exhaust gas to re-enter the intake and get burned again. If there is no back pressure in the exhaust system the sensor that reads the egr valve may not work correctly and the egr valve could cause a symptom of having a vac leak.

Turn signals not working

maybe better explain that "only works on one side" report -- do you get a dash-indicator, but no 'blink'? Bad lamp. Flashers need a minimum current-load to function correctly.

How do i check a key switch in a 97 firebird

First, check that your car's battery is full-charged. Then, if turning the key has no effect, then get the car towed to a car-repair business.

Engine won't turn over and i have no dash lights but i do have headlights turn signals and the radio turns on

It takes a *LOT* of battery-power to spin the starter-motor. It only takes a *SMALL* amount of battery-power to operate the radio. Borrow another car, and some jumper-cables, and see if the other car's battery can provide enough power to start your car.

My 97 pott turn over and i have no dash lights what could it be

There probably a panel with fuses somewhere near the gas/brake pedals. Look for a "blown" fuse, and replace it.
